13.8 billion years ago
- The Big Bang occurs, creating everything that will one day make up this universe.

Circa 7 billion years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The first sapient life forms known to exist evolve on their homeworld.  Named Antichana by the Human who first discovered their remains, Maurizio Gesualdi, their ruins will lay dormant for several billion years before they are unearthed in 2344 CE.  The exact location of their homeworld is unknown, but at least three known colony sites are uncovered by 2800 CE.

4.6 billion years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Sol System, which will one day be home to the Human civilization, is formed in the Milky Way galaxy.

Circa 3.5 billion years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The first life forms begin to develop on Earth, the third planet in the Sol system.

2 billion years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Single-celled life begins to evolve on Earth

450 - 440 million years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Ordovician-Silurian Extinction Event occurs on Earth, wiping out between 60-70% of all species.  It is the second largest of Earth's five major extinctions.

375 - 360 million years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Late Devonian Extinction occurs on Earth.  It is a long period of perhaps 20 million years where a series of extinctions in "pulses" wipe out 70% of all species.

251 million years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Permian-Triassic Extinction Event occurs on Earth, causing the disappearance of up to 90-96% of all life present at the time.  This is Earth's largest extinction event, and it will take vertebrates around 30 million years to recover.

200 million years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Triassic-Jurassic Extinction Event occurs on Earth.  Along with 70-75% of all species, most non-dinosaurian archosaurs, most therapsids, and most large amphibians are eliminated, paving the way for the Age of the Dinosaurs.  The dinosaurs will rule the Earth for more than 130 million years.

66 million years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Cretaceous-Paleogene Extinction Event, also known as the K-T Event, occurs on Earth.  About 75% of all species become extinct, including most non-avian dinosaurs.  The Age of Dinosaurs is at an end, and in their place the mammals and birds arise.

2.5 million years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The genus Homo evolve on Earth, which will one day spawn Humanity (Homo Sapiens Sapiens).
- The first stone tools are used on Earth.

Circa 250,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Gamma Quadrant) An apocalytpic war on the ancient homeworld of the gas-dwelling Aru'Zhi'Luaran, destroys the civlization.  There are believed to be three survivors: Aru'Zhi'Luaran, Shaes'Dusai, and Tava'S'Qor.  The three survivors of this ancient war flee their homeworld.

Circa 120,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The So'Dan Invasion of the Milky Way occurs.  The conflict wil eventually involve the Jarun'da Hegemony, Eldorn Federation, and numerous other powers.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The So'Dan invasion is repulsed after 19 years, culminating in a cataclysmic battle involving dozens of species and more than 20,000 ships.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Several starfaring species, including the Rhaxati, are driven to extinction during the So'Dan Invasion.

Circa 108,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Following a sharp decline, the Jarun'da species becomes extinct around this time.  Remains of their civilization will be discovered on several worlds from the 23rd century on, leading to the revelation of the So'Dan Invasion.

100,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Aru'Zhi'Luaran arrives in the Alpha Quadrant of the Milky Way.  She settles on a subjovian world in an uninhabited system, and begins to rebuild her civilization.

80,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Eldorn begin sending colonial expeditions to other galaxies. They will send at least two dozen over the next 2,500 years.

50,000 years ago
- (Milky Way) By this point, it is believed that both Shaes'Dusai and Tava'S'Qor have settled on their new homeworlds, and began to rebuild their own civilizations.

40,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Eldorn civilization is at an end.

30,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) One of two competing species on Earth, the Neanderthals, becomes extinct.  Homo sapiens (Humans) become the dominant species on the planet.

12 - 15,000 years ago
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The first permanent cities are established on Earth.

1529
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Kelmar develop hyperdrive technology.  At this time, the Kelmar homeworld Rihan'ar is still divided between several competing factions. The Kelmar will initially progress extremely slowly, technologically and expansion-wise. When they begin to contact other species several hundred years later, progress will speed up.

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Adirati homeworld undergoes a major global war.  Most governments collapse, and Adirati civilization is set back several centuries.

1602
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Rihan'ar, the Kelmar homeworld, is unified.  Cirana of Dar'han is declared the first Empress of the Kelmar Star Empire.

1672
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Golraki are driven to extinction by a supervolcano eruption on their homeworld, that puts the world into a volcanic winter for the next 150 years.

1903
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) On Earth, the Wright brothers make the first powered flight.

1914
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Earth's first of two world wars begins.

1918
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Earth's first world war is concluded.  Over 17 million are killed in the conflict.

1939
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Earth's second global war begins.

1945
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The first atomic weapon is dropped by the United States on the Japanese city of Hiroshima on Earth, during their second world war.  A second bomb is later dropped on the city of Nagasaki.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Earth's second world war is concluded.  The war resulted in more than 60 million dead, including a genocide against the Jewish people.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The United Nations is established on Earth.

2024
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The first fusion power plant goes online in Canada, on Earth.

2031
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Rokal Prime is unified by the conquest of all rival nations by the Kal'tark Empire.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Rokal'Kvor Supremacy is officially established as the ruling body.

2032
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) An international team from Earth lands the first Humans on Mars, the fourth planet in their home system.

2035
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) A refugee fleet of the Talai arrives in Earth orbit. The fleet consists of several dozen barely-functioning craft, and carry the last survivors of a destroyed world. In total around two million Talai individuals.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) After deliberations by the United Nations on Earth, the Talai are permitted to settle in a quarantined zone in Australia, where they will begin a major debriefing with Earth personnel, and work on a way to integrate them into Human society. Although many Humans are shocked at their arrival, the scenes of suffering that are shown world-wide bring out the humanity in people, and by 2050 the Talai are living amongst Humans as free men. Many decide to stay within their refugee city in Australia, but they are permitted to leave.

2040-2050
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Around this time, Humans begin exploiting the asteroids in their home system for resources, and setting up the first asteroid mining stations.

2060-2075
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Around this time the terraforming projects on Mars and Venus in the Sol system are begun by Humanity.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Also around this time, the first of the fourteen Jovian Colonies are established on the major moons of Sol's gas worlds.

2063
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) On Earth, the International Organisation for the Exploration of Space (IOES) is established by Japan, the European Space Agency, Russia, the US, India, China, Canada, and Australia.

2087
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Oct: The first manned Human spacecraft leaves the Sol system. The Mayflower begins a 21.8 year journey to Alpha Centauri at 0.2c (4.365LY). The ship includes 500 young colonists, and is designed as a generational ship.

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) March: The Human sub light colony ship Endeavour begins a 27.1 year journey to Barnard's Star (5.963LY).
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Aug: The Human sub light colony ship Pioneer begins a 49.6 year journey to Procyon (11.402LY).

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Sept: The Human sub light colony vessel Hyperion beings a 42.8 year journey to Epsilon Eridani (10.522LY).

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Feb: The Human sub light colony ship Horizon begins a 34.6 year journey to Sirius (8.583LY).

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Oct: The Human sub light colony vessel Icarus begins a 47.2 year journey to Tau Ceti (11.887LY).

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Human sub light colony vessel Hawking begins a 48 year journey to Teegarden's Star, 12.514 light-years away.

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The last of Earth's sub light colony ships, Equinox, begins a 49 year journey to Kapteyn's Star.

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) July: The Human colony vessel Mayflower arrives at Alpha Centauri after a 22 year journey. Initial survey teams land on the third planet and determine that it is indeed habitable as expected. No indigenous sapient life is found, though there is an abundance of flora and fauna.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Three weeks after the first survey teams land, the colony ship makes landfall on the western-most continent, and the ship is used as a makeshift colony until a permanent settlement can be established.

2114
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) January: Earth receives a message from Alpha Centauri to inform them of the ship's successful landfall. The message was sent shortly after the Mayflower landed.

2115
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Rokal'Kvor military crushes a revolt on a penal colony on one of their system's moons. 13,000 are killed in the massacre.

2116
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) April: The second of the pre-hyperdrive colonies is established, when the Endeavour makes landfall on the second planet orbiting Barnard's Star. The planet is less hospitable than Alpha Centauri III, but still suitable for Human habitation.

2128
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Sept: The Human colony vessel Horizon arrives at Sirius, and finds a world only marginally habitable. The colonists land regardless, as they have insufficient fuel or supplies for a return voyage. Compared to the other pre-hyperdrive colonies, the Sirius colony takes substantially longer to establish a thriving settlement.

2132
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The first Human hyperdrive vessel, the Intrepid, makes Humanity's first faster-than-light interstellar journey, to Proxima Centauri. The starship then heads to Alpha Centauri II to make contact with the Human settlement there, whose colonists are thriving.

2135
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The London Treaty officially unifies Earth under a federal government. The Commonwealth of Humanity is established, with all colonies falling under the Commonwealth's jurisdiction.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Under the terms of the London Treaty, all persons regarded as sapient are granted equal rights. This includes the 29.53 million Talai that have integrated with Humanity over the past century.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) June: The Hyperion makes landfall on Epsilon Eridani IV, a pelagic world that is 96% water, with the land mass concentrated in a single continent.

2139
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) March: Procyon IV is settled by the colonists of the Human sub light colony vessel Pioneer.

2141
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) March: The Human sub light colony ship Roddenberry ends her 46 year journey, arriving in orbit of 61 Cygni V. Her passengers establish Mankind's sixth extra-solar colony on a beautiful gaian world.

2142
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Rokal'Kvor develop hyperdrive technology, allowing them to begin expanding out of their home system. Within a decade they have begun mass production of combat starships.

2145
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) April: As the sub light vessel Straczynski ends her journey at Epsilon Indi III, she is greeted by three of Earth's new starships upon her arrival, who assist in setting up the colony.

2146
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Jan: The sub light colony ship Icarus arrives in the Tau Ceti system, where she is escorted to Tau Ceti Prime by several Commonwealth starships.

2149
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Researchers on Earth develop the first energy shield generator, which will provide far improved endurance for starships.

2150
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) June: After some engine trouble, the colony ship Hawking arrives at Teegarden's Star two months overdue, but intact and with all colonists alive and well. The second planet in the system is a fairly hospitable world, and a colony is quickly established.

2152
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Aug: The sub light ship Equinox arrives at Kapteyn's Star after a journey of almost half a century. She is met by two Commonwealth starships including the CNS Equinox. During the colony setup, the colonists are briefed on the changes made in the past four decades, including Earth's unification, and the development of faster-than-light travel.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The colony on Kapteyn V is the last of the pre-stardrive colonies (the colonies established with sub light ships), but over the next few decades the Commonwealth of Humanity begins to expand rapidly.

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Future Rokal'Kvor general Va'rak Ke-Viranar is born on Rokal Prime.

- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) The Takrit are the first species contacted, and subjugated, by the Rokal'Kvor Supremacy.
- (Milky Way, Alpha Quadrant) Humans establish a permanent open colony on Mars in their home system, after a century of terraforming.
