PostSubject: Starship Computer Systems   Tue Jan 16 2018, 21:33

I am wondering, what do you think about integrating Computer systems into the starship design spreadsheets?  I don't know if I can, or how it would work, but here's some ideas:

- Higher Sensor strengths and longer range requires a larger computer.
- More weapons require larger computer.
- Higher Computer technology level makes them more efficient, thus smaller, but mire expensive.

Anything else I could add or change?

I would think that's a good idea [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Safe G, thank you. I will see what I can do Smile Your input is appreciated.

I have the following:

- Increased computer size based on Strength and Range of each sensor type (LRS, Lat, Tach).
- Increased computer size based on number of Beam Weapons (determined by Weapon Size - a Light Beam Weapon needs a smaller computer than a Heavy Beam Weapon).
- Increased computer size based on number of Torpedo Launchers (all Torpedo Launchers use the same computer size, but more Launchers vastly increases computer use).
- Increased computer size based on Life Support.
- Decreased computer size determined by Computer Technology Level.

Anything else?

- Tactical Computer?
--- Increases Beam Weapon Accuracy (not Torpedoes). Higher level increases accuracy (maybe +2% per level) and requires a more powerful computer.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] you're very much welcome

Of course. You'll definitely need a tactical computer if you expect to survive such situations

LOL. Well I will have standard tactical computers for all ships, which give no bonus, but allow weapons to be equipped. And then an enhancement rating to increase beam weapon accuracy.

Would Tractor Beam control come under Tactical Computer or Standard Computer?
