Here I will start compiling information on what goes into an Empire Workbook for Space Era.  Once I have completed this mammoth task, there will be over 1,000 Empire Workbooks, with each interstellar polity having a unique one.  I will use this first post to link to the different categories.

- Universal
- Limited
- Restricted
- Controlled

Media
Freer media increases GDP, reduces Population Growth, and increases Security costs.  Media can be set to:
- Free
- Limited
- Restricted
- Controlled

Suffrage

- Universal
- Limited
- Restricted
- Controlled

PostSubject: Resource Production   Empire Demographics Icon_minitimeTue Aug 15 2017, 02:14

Every polity must produce certain resources in order to have a space fleet. These resources are:
- Deuterium: Used for starship sublight propulsion.
- Antimatter: Used for starship and starbase power generation.
- Hypermatter: Used for starship hyperdrives.

The "Resources" page in the Empire Workbook lists the total production of each resource, the total bought from other empires, the total in storage, the total sold to other empires, the new expected storage at the end of the year, and the number of facilities producing each resource.

Deuterium is the cheapest resource to produce, and can be produced on any colony with deuterium present.

Antimatter and Hypermatter can only be produced on colonies with special resources present. There are 7 special resources that can be used to produce antimatter and hypermatter, and each special resource has a different multiplying value. For example, if there is Xithricite present on a colony, it will produce Antimatter or Hypermatter at 125% normal.

Resources held in storage must have a maintenance cost paid each year. It is wise to keep at least some resources in storage, just in case of an emergency. But it is also a good idea to sell off excess resources. An empire can either sell to another empire, or to private interests. If selling to another power, the two parties involved agree a price. If selling to private interests, a random value is generated within set limits. This must be agreed to.

PostSubject: Major Worlds   Empire Demographics Icon_minitimeTue Aug 15 2017, 02:32

This page within the Empire Workbook deals with the primary colonies of a polity. Major worlds include any planet with a population over 100 million, or any sapient species' homeworld regardless of population.

Each world has a lot of information, in the form of the following:
- Name
- Status (Capital, Homeworld, Major Colony)
- Planet Class
- Diameter (in kilometres)
- Density (compared to water. Earth has a density of 5.517 g/cm3)
- Gravity (compared to Earth = 1)
- Moons (Small, Medium, and Large)
- Percentage of surface that is land
- Total land area
- Agricultural rating (used to determine food production)
- Mineral rating (used to determine economic production)
- Hazard rating (high HR is more dangerous environment)
- Population
- Space taken up by population
- Morale (higher morale has better economy)
- Civilian upkeep (modified by Morale and Civics)
- Population growth rate
- Deuterium production (if relevant. Includes number of facilities, and richness)
- Antimatter production (if relevant. Includes number of facilities and resource present)
- Hypermatter production (if relevant. Includes number of facilities and resource present)
- Industrial plants present (determines total economic production)
- Whether Forced Labour is present (reduces population growth, and increases economic production)
- Industrial output (in £)
- Civilian production (in £)
- Total economic production (in £. Industrial + Civilian)
- Number of Farms
- Agricultural Production
- Hospital present
- Power generation (Antimatter, Fusion, or Solar)
- Power use and total Power supply
- Excess power
- Military Academy, Barracks, and Manufacturing Plant present (Military Academy trains new fleet commanders, Barracks produce ground troops, Manufacturing Plants produce small craft [fighters])
- Total Maintenance cost
- Pollution
- Space used by facilities
- Total space on planet
- Available space remaining
- Troops present
